Liberty Gold Corp. is a Canadian-based gold exploration and development company focused on advancing open-pit oxide gold projects in the Great Basin region of the western United States, which includes parts of Nevada, Idaho, and Utah looking for an experienced Corporate Controller Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports and statements. The Controller has direct supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal controls, and budgetary controls. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Duties: Financial Reporting: Responsible for internal and external financial reporting. Including preparing consolidations, Quarterly and Year-end financial statements, MD&A for submission to regulatory commissions. Coordinate and liaison with external auditors during quarterly and yearly audits. Coordinate with liaison with external control testers as they assess the design reporting and disclosure controls and procedures. Responsible for month-end reporting. Ensuring timelines are met and review of month-end working papers. General: Maintenance of internal accounting system Microsoft BC365 and Jet Reports. Management of staff benefits program. Management of Treasury function including options, warrants, shares, RSUs, DSUs, cash management. Management of equity compensation, maintenance of Shareworks, calculation of withholding taxes, and maintaining internal records for exercises, grants, forfeitures and expiries. Management of the procurement function at head office preparation of purchase invoices, preparation of wire transfers, preparation of pay runs. Monthly budget to actual variance analysis and assistance with the preparation of budgets. Semi-monthly preparation of Payroll. Weekly preparation of the Cash Report, indicating the Company’s cash position and sent to the CEO, CFO, and Audit Committee chair. Preparation of month-end entries including bank reconciliations, prepaid amortization, wages allocation, share-based compensation allocation, RSU/DSU/Option exercises, sale of financial assets, etc. Preparation of quarter-end entries marked to market investment adjustments, FX adjustments, intercompany eliminations, etc. Preparation and filing of key reporting obligations GST/HST, Employer Health Taxes, Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) reporting, WorkSafe BC, etc. Review & supervision of accounting personnel. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department. Prepare and develop ad hoc reports to improve accounting systems, processes and reporting. Review all new accounting pronouncements that affect the company and ensure compliance. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient. Governance: Review, develop, implement and monitor internal control processes. Perform regular monitoring/testing of internal controls to ensure compliance. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical subject • Several years of experience in accounting and auditing • ACA Certification is mandatory • Strong organizational and supervisory skills • An understanding of the mining industry.
