Business address: 2-81 Elgin St. Brantford, ON N3S 5A1 Work location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Instruct apprentices. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Requirements: Education: Completion of high school is required Experience: A minimum of 3 years of work experience in woodwork, cabinetmaking or a related trade is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience a post-secondary certificate or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program is required. Personal suitability: Accurate, Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication, organized, team player. Work conditions: Fast-paced environment, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods Language: English is required Salary: $36.00 hourly, 40-44 Hours per week. Benefits: Health insurance, dental insurance, vision care benefits. Important information: The position requires flexibility in schedule. Normal work schedule will be Monday to Thursday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
