Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications Repair or replace defective machinery parts Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions Installing machinery and equipment Perform routine maintenance work on machinery Operate hoisting and lifting equipment May drive to and from clients’ locations Requirements Education: Secondary school education is required. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate in the trade is required OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program in heavy equipment repair is required Class 5 driver’s license is an asset Equipment and machinery experience: Pumps and compressors, Heat exchangers, Hand tools, Power tools, Gas compressors, Power transmission system, Hydraulic system, Industrial and stationary engine, Marine engine. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Bending crouching, kneeling, Hand-eye coordination, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Sound discrimination, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure. While the worker is on the field, the work schedule is 6 days per week, 12 hours per day, for the duration of the call out on the field.
