Meadow Sushi in Pitt Meadows, BC is looking for a qualified First Cook to join our team. Conditions: • Position: First Cook • Vacancy: one (1) • Employment Term: Full-time, permanent • Compensation: $28.00 ~$37.00 per hour (depending on a skill set) • Work hours: 30 to 35 hours per week • Vacation: 4% of gross salary for vacation pay or 10 days of paid vacation • Work Location: Pitt Meadows, BC Job Duties: • Prepare and cook Japanese food items from menu, such as sushi rolls, nigiri sushi, donburi, teriyaki, yaki noodles, etc. • Make adjustment to food items to accommodate customers with food allergies • Oversee kitchen operations • Plan menus and estimate food requirements • Supervise and train junior cooks and kitchen helpers with respect to preparation, cooking and handling of food • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment • Requisition food and kitchen supplies • Comply with food safety standards and company policies by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage • Clean kitchen and work areas Requirements: • Completion of secondary school • A minimum of 2 years of commercial cooking experience • English skills How to Apply Email: meadowsushi.recruit@gmail.com (Please send your resume by email with ‘First Cook’ on the subject line.)
