Type of Employment: Permanent - full time Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Install and overhaul heating systems; Install refrigeration systems; Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems; Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation; Measure and lay out reference points for installation; Prepare tenders and quotations; Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements; Troubleshoot heating systems; Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems; Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components; Coach and instruct apprentices; Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment; Provide customer service; Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices; Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system; Interpret gas codes; Handle, recover and store refrigerants; Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems; Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance and customer satisfaction; Document service and installation actions by completing electronic forms, reports, logs, and records: Lead and participate in daily HSE meetings; Service new and existing accounts by analyzing work orders, investigating complaints, identifying solutions, conducting tests, and resolving problems. Requirements: Education: Completion of secondary school is required Experience: At least 5 years of experience AND industry courses in refrigeration and air conditioning repair is required. If the candidate does not have the experience, completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program is required to be eligible for trade certification. Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics Certification or being eligible for the certification is needed. Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5 year driving abstract; Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive, considered an asset. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, Willingness to travel to customer sites when required throughout Western Canada.
