Read and study these verses carefully in a KJV Bible: Psalms 49:6-12; Proverbs 11:4, Ezekiel 7:19; Zephaniah 1:18, Acts 8:18-22, 1 Peter 1:18-19, 2 John 1:9-11. This needs to be repeated many times. You can see it everyday on TV. Far too many people have been led to believe that money can buy blessings from God; that you can buy your way into Heaven, in other words, that salvation can be bought; that you can buy the Holy Spirit, a healing, etc. The above verses say otherwise. Have you ever heard your Pastor quote and explain these verses; I wonder why not? Most of those that beg for money never seem to get around to teaching God's word. Hmm? True teachers of Christ's doctrines do need support from us. If you hear someone say, all you have to do is just sow a seed (send them money) and reap a blessing from God or have Him answer your prayer, they are lying, it is a false teaching; I'll repeat, God's blessings are not for sale. The correct way to tithe is to support the teachings of God's true word (Christ's doctrines only). When you support the true teachings of God's word, many are helped by those truths. It is not a self-centered act helping only you; it helps many. This topic reminds me of an old saying, “A fool and his money are soon parted”. How do you know if a teaching is false? See if it checks out in God's word; verify it, one way or the other (is it true or false?). God commands us to try the spirits, see 1 John 4:1. This responsibility falls on each and everyone of us; we as individuals must take action by verifying it one way or the other. Have you obeyed? Study the entire Bible and learn God's truths; free yourself from man's false teachings; connect the dots. You'll be absolutely amazed at what is actually in the Bible. God commands us to study; see 2 Timothy 2:15 in a KJV Bible. Food for thought follows: https://www.soulwinning.info/fd/fake_healing/fh.htm (I agree with most of the above website, but, not all of it. If the healing is faked then that is something that those folks will have to answer for in front of God. We are not the judge, God is the one and only judge; we must be aware of deceit in all of its forms [that is called spiritual discernment, always verify what is said; 1 John 4:1]). Exodus 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. (Any offering you make to God must be done willingly and for the right reason). Psalm 145:18 "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, To all that call upon Him in truth." (It must be done in truth; you can’t con God). Food for thought: God doesn’t send out beggars. Sadly, there are preachers that beg parishioners for tithes. In some cases they try to intimidate some and actually send out letters saying God will not save them or bless them unless they send in some money; the more money the better (more blessings). They sometimes take advantage of senior citizens that are probably thinking about end of life issues. Many of those senior citizens will be on fixed incomes and must pay for food, medicine, etc. These preachers don’t care, just send some money and buy salvation and blessings. According to the above verses in the word of God that is not so. Don’t fall for this tactic from a preacher that begs. He or she is not from God! ![]() | |
