"A shipping company based in Dubai reported damage to a MAN B&W Engine Model No. 6L23/30H crankshaft. Their vessel was approaching Sikka Port, India, with a transit time of fewer than 18 hours. From Sikka Port, the vessel would cross the Suez Canal.RA Power Solutions sent two experts to Sikka Port, India, to use In Situ Crankshaft Grinding/Polishing equipment on board the vessel. As part of the methodology, the crankpin was subjected to crack detection using the MPI Method, a hardness test, and a visual inspection. All technical parameters were within acceptable ranges. We used our specially built equipment to grind the damaged crankpin number #04 in situ.
