Business Address: 2751 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay, BC V9N 2L8 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full Time – Seasonal / 9-month contract Estimated Start Date: Early May 2026 Job Description: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays Bake mixed dough and batters Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food Draw up production schedules Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards Prepare special orders Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods Operate machinery Organize and maintain inventory Requirements: Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the field is required. In the event that the candidates do not meet the 2 years of experience, a post-secondary certificate will be required to qualify. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure Personal Suitability: Accurate, Dependability, Reliability, Patience, Client focus, Judgement, Team player Language: English is required Salary: $18.00 hourly, 37.5 hours per week Benefits: Dental plan, Disability benefits, Health care plan, Paramedical services coverage, Vision care benefits, Group insurance benefits, Life insurance, Free parking available, Learning/training paid by the employer.
