Sushi Yama in Chilliwack is looking for a Food Counter Attendant to join our team. Position: Food Counter Attendant Number of Positions: 1 Hourly Wage: C$17.85 Work Hours: 30.00 ~ 40.00 hours per week Vacation: 10 business days of paid vacation per year or 4% of gross salary Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Language of Work: English Work Location: Chilliwack, BC Main Job Duties: • Welcome customers and take customer orders • Clean, peel, cut and slice foodstuffs including vegetables and meats • Prepare, heat and/or finish simple food items, such as tempuras, salads and miso soup • Portion, assemble, place and serve food and beverages according to company standards • Package take-out food • Provide positive customer service at the counter • Follow health, food safety and sanitation guidelines for all food and beverage items • Stock refrigerators with fresh ingredients and keep inventory records • Receive payment from customers, handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system • Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with the daily checklists and cleaning standards • Follow company policy and procedures for operational flow at each station Qualifications: No experience is required. On-the-job training is provided. No degree, certificate or diploma is required, but minimum completion of Grade 10 is needed.
