We are looking for an individual who would like to follow us in this journey. You must love being part of a local community, be motivated and enjoy working on a dynamic team. You must have a passion and interest in all things coffee! If you are a lover of coffee and a foodie with a health conscience, we are looking for you. Job Description: Take customer’s orders Serve customers at counters or buffet tables Ensure all displays, counter and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements by sweeping, moping, washing and polishing floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathroom and kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment, removing kitchen garbage and trash, cleaning and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware Keep records of the quantities of food used Portion and wrap foods Place dishes in storage area Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas Conduct inventory checks and restocking Brew coffee in different methods, drip, pour over, French press, cold brew Pour Latte Art Utilize the espresso machine and adjust relevant equipment Steam milk for a variety of drinks Prep work for beverages and food related products Make and serve specialty coffee and tea beverages Follow health safety and safety guidelines Requirements: -Education: Some secondary school is required -Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience as a barista is required. On-the-job training is provided. -Experience with Latte Art is required -Experience in specialty coffee is required -Knowledge on how to use a manual espresso machine is required -Knowledge on how to steam milk for different type of beverages is required -Experience in the food industry is a strong asset -Knowledge on how to dial in a grinder is a strong asset. -Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, attention to detail, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, be able to reach, pull, lift, and push items according to cleaning needs, passion for the industry in a high-volume, full service restaurant, overtime required. -Personal suitability: Team player, Initiative, Client focus, Dependability, Reliability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Ability to multitask, Must be responsible and enthusiastic. -Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) -Language: English is required. Salary: $23.08 hourly, 40 – 50 hours per week. Benefits: Meals provided. Discount on establishment’s food. Accommodation provided at a cost. Relocations costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Important Information: Regular schedule includes 5 days per week on a rotational basis. Shifts between 6 am to 6 pm. The chosen candidate will usually work 8-10 hours per day, including 2 healthy breaks of 15 minutes each (paid). For lunch time, the candidate will have 30 minutes per day (unpaid).
