Hapa Izakaya 1193 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 5P6 Hapa Izakaya Restaurant is seeking one Chef position with responsibilities for: • Leading preparation of Japanese Izakaya menu items (lunch and dinner) • Developing new menu items • Supervising and directing lead cooks and their training of junior cooks, and kitchen staff • Scheduling kitchen personnel • Managing inventory of foodstuffs and kitchen supplies This is a permanent full-time position with a salary of $28.00/hour based on a 40 - hour work week. Benefits include vacation time per the Employment Standards Act. The workplace language is English. Japanese language fluency is an asset. The work location is 1193 Hamilton Street, Yaletown, in downtown Vancouver. Candidates must have minimum 5 years cooking experience in Izakaya restaurants and more than five years commercial cooking experience or a combination of experience and a relevant cooking certificate or training. Izakaya cooking experience is mandatory. No minimum education requirement. English is required, at least sufficient for emergencies.
