Business address: 1 Water Street, Silver Water, ON, P0P 1Y0 Location of work: 1981 Burnt Island Rd., Burnt Island, ON, P0P 1Y0 Type of Employment: Full time - Seasonal / 7-month contract Estimated Start Date: June 2023 Job duties: Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them by hand or forklift truck to work area Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing. Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack fish in ice. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Sort fish according to species, weight and destination. Operating Stationary Industrial Equipment. Requirements: -Education: No formal education is required -Experience: Previous experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided. -Must take direction and abide by safety rules -Driver’s License is an asset. -Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Handling heavy loads (lift and/or move up to 50 pounds), Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Bending, crouching, kneeling. -Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Team player, Reliability -Work Site Environment: Noisy, Odours, Wet/damp -Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) -Language: Basic level of English is required Wage: $16.55 per hour. 42.5 hours per week. Benefits: Group insurance benefits, Parking and Free parking available, Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. Transportation costs covered if workers need to relocate, Learning/training paid by employer. Vehicle provided by the employer for personal use. Important information: Work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from Monday to Friday. Flexibility for occasional weekends and some longer days is needed depending when the fish arrive at the plant.
