Location: Burnaby, BC NOC: 22212- Drafting Technologists and Technicians Salary Range: $35.00 to $44.00 Hourly Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (To be negotiated for 40 hours per Week per week) Language: English Start Date: As soon as possible Minimum Education: Diploma Positions Available: 1 ________________________________________ Job Description: Novastone Inc. is currently seeking a skilled AutoCAD / Drafting Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and preparing engineering designs and drawings and assisting in various technical tasks for our projects. Key responsibilities include: • Develop and prepare engineering designs, drawings, and layouts from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, and specifications. • Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create and refine design sketches, drawings, and 3D models. • Prepare comprehensive documentation packages, including 3D drawing sets. • Ensure that design drawings conform to specifications and other technical data. • Write technical reports and assist in the creation of detailed plans, diagrams, and layouts. • Provide supervision and training to junior technologists as needed. • Work with stone and subconsultants to address technical issues related to cladding systems (experience with stone cladding is an asset). • Collaborate with team members to refine designs and resolve issues efficiently. Requirements: • Minimum education: Diploma in a related field. • Proficiency in DIALUX (Advanced), AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, and MS Excel. • 3-5 years of experience in AutoCAD design. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills. Additional Skills (Assets): • Knowledge and experience with cladding systems, particularly stone.
