In our café at The Garden we serve organic and fair-trade beverages. We make all of our fresh baked treats, breakfast and lunch bowls from scratch in-house. We value using ethically-sourced ingredients always and choose local products whenever possible at our café. Now we are hiring for the Cook position. Employer: SECRET GARDEN GOODS INC. (o/a The Garden Strathcona) Position: Cook Vacancy: 2 Wage: $17.65 – $18.00 CAD per hour Working hours: 30-40 hours a week. Work Location: 868 E Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 1R6. Responsibilities: - Set up a workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. - Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.). - Cook complete various foods according to the recipe and procedure. - Order or receive food supplies and check the quality of ingredients. - Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. - Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers and oversee kitchen operations. - May clean kitchen and work area.
