Company: Alpine Carpentry Business information: Alpine Carpentry cover all types of residential carpentry with a focus on finish carpentry, renovations and building custom homes. We occasionally work on larger commercial projects too. Business address: 1788 Columbia Street, Unit 1406, Vancouver, BC, V5Y 0L7 Work Location: Different locations within greater Vancouver area, depending on client’s sites Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Assist the lead carpenters with any tasks required Assist with loading and unloading of tools to site Assist with unloading materials to site e.g. plywood, dimensional lumber Use both hand tools and power tools to assist carpenters with demolition and building new structures. Maintain a clean work environment by clearing waste material and sweeping site on a daily basis. Measure and cut lumber according to carpenters specifications Nail off brackets, clips and hangers for carpenters Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites Requirements: Education: No formal education is required Experience: A minimum of 7 months of experience in a related trade is required. On-the-job training will be provided. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Work under Pressure; Tight Deadlines; Repetitive Tasks; Handling Heavy Loads; Physically Demanding; Manual Dexterity; Attention to Detail; Standing for Extended Periods; Bending, Crouching, Kneeling. Personal suitability: Excellent Oral Communication, Initiative, Client Focus, Accurate, Judgement, Effective Interpersonal Skills, Team Player, Organized Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Language: English is required Salary: $26.00 hourly, 40 hours per week. Travel expenses paid by the employer if the worker needs to relocate.
