Business Address: 120 Green Point Rd, Penetanguishene, ON L9M 2H7 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full Time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory Analyze operating costs and other data Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers Create new recipes Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods Requisition food and kitchen supplies Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards Requirements: - Education: Completion of high school is required. - Experience: A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in commercial food preparation is required. If the candidate does not have at least 4 years of experience, then equivalent training or Cook’s trade certification is required. - Knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres is a strong asset. - One year of experience in a supervisory capacity is a strong asset. - Ability to supervise 1 to 2 people. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work Under Pressure, Tight Deadlines, Repetitive Tasks, Physically Demanding, Manual Dexterity, Attention to Detail, Standing For Extended Periods, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling. Important information: Position requires flexibility in scheduling. The employee will work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. We are open 7 days a week, from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
