Location: 1367 East Kent Ave N, Vancouver, BC V5X 4T6 Salary: $36.00 / hour Benefits: Extended medical benefits Vacancies: 1 Employment groups: Youth, Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, visible minorities, Indigenous people, newcomers to Canada Terms of employment: Permanent, full time 40 hours / week Start date: As soon as possible Employment conditions: Overtime, Early Morning/ Day Job Requirements Languages: English Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Ticketed or equivalent experience Area of specialization: low and/or slope roofing, sheet metal Experience: 3-5 years Security and safety: Bondable Supervision: 1 to 2 people valid driver's licence Work site environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty, Dangerous, Outdoors Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, Hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, large workload, overtime required, repetitive tasks, work under pressure Work setting: Various locations, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Residential Own tools/equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Safety harness, Gloves Personal Suitability: Client focused, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, reliability, team player Job Duties • Instruct apprentices, supervise other workers • Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level • Install sheet metal flashings, install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel • Install, repair and replace single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Who can apply to this job?
