Business address: 1 First Street Unit 220b, Collingwood ON L9Y 1A1 Work Location: 49 West Street, Goderich, ON N7A 2K5 Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Duties: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders Bake mixed doughs and batters Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards Operate machinery Organize and maintain inventory Requirements: Education: Completion of high school is required. Experience: A minimum of 1 year of commercial baking experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 1 year of experience, a completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program for bakers OR completion of a college or other program for bakers is required. On-the-job training will be provided. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Tight deadlines, Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Excellent oral communication and written communication, Judgement, Reliability, Team player, Patience Work Setting: Bake shop Language: English is required Worksite environment: Confined spaces, Noisy, Hot Salary: $17.00 hourly, 40 hours per week. Benefits: Meals provided at a discounted rate during work hours, Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Important Information: The worker will work 5 days a week that will be scheduled within the business operating days from Tuesday to Sunday, from 1:00 am to 9:00 am, or from 3:00 am to 11:00 am, depending on the business’ needs.
