We serve the greater Humboldt area for in-home care and provide assisted living at The Elizabeth Retirement Community. Business address: 1212 12th Street Humboldt, SK S0K 2A0 Work Location: Same as above and multiple locations in the greater Humboldt area for in-home care depending on the clients’ locations Type of Employment: Full-time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: · Provide support with general morning and evening routines · Provide physical support, assist with sitting and standing, walking around, or lying down · Weigh, lift, turn and position clients · Make beds, clean the clients’ suits and maintain clients' rooms · Bathe, dress and groom patients · Health checks: take clients' blood pressure using a blood pressure machine, temperature and pulse · Administer medications · Check sugars in diabetics · Empty cathier bags · Visit clients · May administer first aid in emergency situations · Read prescriptions · Document clients’ care and write reports · Maintain inventory of supplies Requirements: -Education: Some secondary school education is required. -Experience: A minimum of 7 months to 1 year of experience as a home support worker is required A first aid certificate is an asset Driver’s licence is an asset Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling Personal suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Initiative, Interpersonal awareness, Judgement, Organized, Reliability - Language: English is required Salary: $19.00- $19.50 hourly, 30- 40 hours per week Benefits: Uniforms. Transportation costs are covered if the worker needs to relocate. Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. The work schedule is from Monday to Sunday, 5 to 12 hours daily, from 7 am to 4.30 pm, then 4.30 pm to 10 pm and 11 pm to 3 am. Weekend work and work at night will be required.
