Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted Repair cracks and holes Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces Prepare walls for painting (Scraping, Sanding, Caulking) Paint spraying and coating surfaces Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster Maintain all tools and equipment Ensure compliance with safety regulations on construction sites Estimate materials needed for each project and manage inventory effectively. Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts. Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met. Perform plastering, caulking, and other finishing techniques to achieve desired results. Drive a van to and from the work locations Requirements: -Education: Completion of secondary school is preferred. -Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in the trade is required. If the candidate does not have at least 4 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required. -Experience using roller painting and brush painting is required. -Experience in drywall taping/patching is required. -Valid driver’s license is required. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, bending, crouching, kneeling, ability to distinguish between colours, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, fast-paced environment Work Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights, Dangerous Personal suitability: Reliability, initiative, flexibility, client focus, effective interpersonal skills, team player Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs.). Language: Basic English is required Salary: $36.00 hourly, 40-45 hours per week. Benefits: Medical benefits and disability insurance is provided. The employer will provide uniform and tools at no cost. Company vehicle supplied for work purposes only. Accommodation is available at a cost. Important Information: This position requires flexibility in schedule. The worker will be required to work 5 days per week, 8-9 hours per day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, (sometimes starting at 8:30am or 9:00am), occasional Saturday’s schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Overtime might be required, including weekends (roughly once every 2-4 weeks) and holidays according to the business needs.
