Sura Korean Cuisine is located at 1518 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC V6G 1C2. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Specialty Foods Chef (Korean Foods). Position: Specialty Foods Chef (Korean Foods) Wage: CAD$35.00-37.00/hour (depending on skills & experiences) Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays) Working hours: 30~ 40 hours/week Benefits: 4% of vacation pay Job Duties: • Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of Korean foods • Prepare and cook authentic Korean BBQs and Korean foods, chef’s specials, and specialty foods • Create new recipes • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality and safety standards • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items • Demonstrate and train new cooking techniques/equipment to staff • Supervise activities of cooks and staff • Monitor and requisition food and supplies • Arrange any repair /purchase of kitchen equipment • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies Job Requirements: • Completion of secondary school; • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required. • Korean food cooking certificate is an asset. • Skills demonstration may be required.
