Candidates would be responsible for maintenance, support and installation of current and future Local Area Network, hardware and software desktop systems. The Systems Administrator ensures that the company's informations systems standards are maintained with respect to infrastructure, hardware and software security and administration. Strong communication skills are required to work effectively with company personnel and management, vendors, and outside business partners. Must be fluent in both French and English. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: " Performs equipment installations and relocation as required. " Provide first level technical support of existing informations systems locally and remotely. This will include occasional on-call status and the ability to travel to remote locations. " Responsibilities include (Service Desk) receiving and coordinating in-house inquiries, problems and service requests regarding Informations Systems. This includes contacting appropriate service personnel and follow-up as required. Logs calls and troubleshoots hardware and/or software with contract vendors. Advise, instruct and train staff on the operation of Information systems equipment. " Responsible for the on-going maintenance, testing and resolution of all PC hardware and associated peripherals: scanners, and printers. Verifies that the system is operating correctly. " Responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, administration and set up of Workstations and Local Area Networks. " Responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, administration and set up of systems peripherals. " Ensures all inquires and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner. " Displays good problem solving and comunication skills. " Develop and ensure maintainence of the physical inventory and database of all hardware, software, equipment and parts. " Set-up, support and maintain desktop applications according to standard desktop procedures (ie. excel models, batch update files, etc.). " Develop and maintain up to date procedure manuals for Systems level documentation including image, lab interface PC's, accounting server, Windows data entry and standard system procedures. " Maintains confidentiality of appropriate data and systems. " Responsible to protect their own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe working practices. Performs duties in accordance with established company policies and procedures. " Maintain business and technical competence through reading, education, conferences, etc. " Must be team orientated with the ability to work independently QUALIFICATIONS: " Community College diploma in Computer Science or equivalent. " A minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience working in PC hardware, software & network administration. " Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) qualification is an asset. " A minimum of 3 years experience working in Help Desk Support. " Demonstrated technical skills, with the ability to learn new equipment and procedures quickly. " Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills. " Ability to work independently under tight deadlines. " Fluent in both French and English | |
