Due to continued growth and expansion, an excellent opportunity exists in Toronto, Canada for an experienced Environmental Specialist to coordinate and implement all aspects of Environmental Compliance for air, water, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, asbestos, PCBs, ground water and soil cleanup and DOT. As Environmental Specialist, you will: • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by federal, Provincial, local law and corporate policy for hazardous, non-hazardous regulated and biohazardous wastes, industrial and wastewater discharges, air emissions, asbestos, TDG , under and above ground tanks and chemical use • Prepare required environmental documentation for capital projects, including permit applications, emission inventories, NPRI, hazardous waste reports, environmental assessments and impact statements, fact sheets, etc. • Perform data collection, analysis, conclusions and provide recommendations; participate in investigations and response to environmental releases and incidents • Direct work of specialty consultants; act as liaison and technical coordinator with reviewing and jurisdictional federal, state and local agencies • Coordinate environmental planning work; assist with compliance training and quarterly and annual audit programs Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or similar • 5 – 7 years experience working in Environmental Compliance • Experience with NPRI reporting requirements • Hazardous Waste Information Network (HWIN) experience a plus What is in it for you? • Opportunity to work with the largest manufacturer of glass containers in the world, with leading positions in Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and South America • Join an organization that offers first-class, modern offices whose new world headquarters building has been awarded silver LEED certification recognizing it as a truly environmentally-friendly structure • A culture that encourages and is respectful of the “lifelong learning process” where ingenuity, determination and work ethic is the standard • A comprehensive benefit package and opportunity for ongoing career development If you are ready to take your career to the next level and work for an organization that values its employees, submit your information today! | |
