As a result of continuing growth, we are currently seeking a Site Coordinator to be based in Calgary. The primary objectives of this position are to coordinate and monitor project scheduling and communication and acts as liaison to management to ensure compliance with documentation, work schedules, cost estimates and Starline Architectural Windows standards. TASKS: • Monitor projects to ensure that procedures, materials and equipment comply with approved project plans, specifications and samples. • Provide documentation of progress of project to include shop drawings, manpower, schedules, delays, changes and other events affecting the project. • Maintain liaison between company, contractor and consultants to resolve field problems and maintain project schedule. • Obtain field measurements as required as per the contract specifications. • Interpret blueprints and specifications for contractors to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and obtain additional information from consultants and/or recommend changes when necessary. • Maintain liaison with contractor, architect and owner to discuss modifications and adequate solutions to project problems; monitor and document change orders from initiation to completion. • Prepare and release orders to inside coordination group. • Coordinate deliveries and release products to site. • Review and recommend approval of payment to contracts for quantities of materials received or used and work completed during specific periods. • Prepare reports of project activities and other reports as required. • Coordinate and assist with final inspections; monitor completion of the project. • Review projects for non-compliance items and resolve accordingly. • Represent Starline Architectural Windows at site meetings and other meetings as required. • Performs other related duties as required. EDUCATION / TRAINING / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE • A degree related to Architectural Building Engineering Technology, Applied Sciences. • Two to four years experience in construction, construction management in order to interpret contract documents, specifications and blueprints. • A sound knowledge of building codes, commercial construction procedures and materials, architectural blueprint reading, specification reading and construction estimation related to the fenestration industry. • Experience in project management including managing the design, material procurement, fabrication up to and including final installation. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy. • The ability to face each project pro-actively with thoroughness, innovation and the ability to cope with demanding schedules. • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. • Preference will be given to those who have previous window or glass experience. The successful candidate will be required to come to our facility in Langley, British Columbia for a training period of approximately one month. Accommodations will be provided.
