1978 Firebird | |
1978 Firebird I have owned this Firebird since new. It has never been winter driven, although there is rust showing on the trunk lid, doors and around the hood scoop. This is for the most part minor and easily repaired. The driver's door has been replaced (in 1984). Door bottoms, frame and the car is solid. The car has a small amount of filler in the custom body work and from damage when the door was replaced. The paint (BASF Iris over Black Cherry) has not handled winter tarping well and therefore requires repaint. I have started customizing the interior. This part of the project requires finishing. I have the interior panels, etc., to complete this part of the project. Please note, the dash pad is original and not cracked. This car has never been smoked in. Custome body work includes: Fiberglass hood scoop, modified from an aftermarket Camaro piece. I have designed and fabricated sheet metal fender flares. I also designed and built a wing on the rear deck. Smoked covers on the tail lights and six head lights make a very sharp looking ride. I have a front spoiler in process to add to the overall visual effect. Other aftermarket features. The aftermarket sunroof is 15" by 33". The car is running B.F. Goodrich radial TA's, on Oldsmobile Rally rims. Other extras include, Vintage Royce 23 channel CB radio is built in. Overhead mounted Kenwood AM/FM cassette deck with power boost and FM boost. Smoked Gila rear window tint insert. Some history. I took delivery of this Firebird May 5, 1978. Almost twenty-nine years ago. The car has seen several local shows and weekly show and shines. I've shown this Firebird in Car Craft's Street Machine Nationals East and Hot Rod's Super Nationals East. It now has only 223,000 KM. The original 305 c.i. engine has been replaced with a 350 c.i., running a Rochester Quadrajet, Eliminator cam and duel exhaust. The motor was intalled approximately 10,000 km's ago. The car has been off the road, so it is in need of a good tune up and a choke. The future. I've run my time for this project, it is time to pass it on to an enthusiast who will show this Firebird new life. Buyer will be responsible for pickup or delivery upon receipt of payment in full. Payment will be due within seven days, Bank Draft, Certified Cheque, or Cash only, at the Venders discretion. Arrangement for pickup is the buyers responsibility. Thank you for your interest and cooperation. THIS IS A PROJECT FOR A TRUE ENTHUSIAST. ![]() | |
