A & A EXCAVATING LTD are recruiting for a Construction Estimator to join their team as soon as possible Job details Location: Burnaby, BC V5G 3X3 Number of Vacancies: One Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week Start date: As soon as possible Employment conditions: Early mornings and Day Job requirements: Languages: English Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or similar field Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Salary: $36.00 per hour for 40 hours a week o A competitive compensation package plus benefits plans. o Opportunity for advancement Own Tools/Equipment: Hard hat, Steel-toed safety boots Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel, Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Sitting, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods In-depth knowledge of project management Good understanding of data analysis Good time management skills Familiarity with computer programs Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal skills Client focus, Team player, Flexibility, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Organized Additional Skills: Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Business Equipment and Computer Applications Estimating packages, Take-off packages, Scheduling packages, Spreadsheet, Database, MS Excel, MS Word Major Work Area: Estimating Project Size Estimating Experience: Over $500,000.00 Specific Skills Estimate Shoring and excavation projects based on the geotechnical engineer drawings. Analyze Time, Material, and Labor for the project. Prepare all the costs going into the project. Provide accurate and comprehensive takeoffs. Provide and maintain unit pricing for labor, equipment, and material.
